Lighting Dimensions International 2000 named Dawn Hollingsworth, LC, IALD Architectural Lighting Designer of the Year, for her work on the LAX Gateway. Dawn is a certified lighting professional with a unique background in both lighting design and business management. Dawn’s work has been awarded eight IIDA Awards of Merit, two Lumen West Awards of Excellence, an IIDA Award of Excellence and two Joseph Jefferson nominations for outstanding lighting design. She is also responsible for the business management of Visual Terrain and development of the architectural lighting division of the firm. Dawn has extensive experience in product design and manufacturing and continues to consult with manufacturers on the development of new products. Dawn holds a BFA in Theatre Design and Technical Production from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from Pepperdine University. A member of United Scenic Artists, Local #829 and a professional member of the International Association of Lighting Designers, Dawn is a past president of the Los Angeles Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society and has taught both theatrical and architectural lighting design at various universities including Loyola Marymount University, University of Southern California, Woodbury University and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Currently, Dawn is an adjunct professor at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.
