Visual Terrain Illuminates GameWorks
Long Beach, California
Van Nuys, CA The recent opening of GameWorks Long Beach, located at the Pike at Rainbow Harbor, marks the 15th Gameworks that Visual Terrain Inc. has designed in association with the architects of the Cuningham Group.
According to Visual Terrain Designer Eileen Thomas, Each Gameworks has its own unique demands and challenges and at the same time carry a common design thread throughout the individual locations. Our goal is to implement their vision and at the same time streamline the design with key elements to bring the project in on budget.
Using a mix of architectural and theatrical lights triggered by an audiovisual system, Lighting Designers Eileen Thomas and Jeremy Windle have created a design that sets the mood according to the functions. The Main Events room, a multi-functional space equipped with Multi-media capabilities and recessed moving lights, can easily be transformed from a dance club to a corporate meeting room.
One of the more popular activities is the state-of -the-art Bowling Center. With the flip of a switch, this ten lane venue functional for league bowling, can be turned into Disco entertainment complete with moving lights, custom patterns and mirror balls! The entire system can be manipulated by the Party Host to increase the guest experience or compliment the staging of various events.
