| April 1, 2004 Jeff Ravitz Designs New Styx Tour  Van Nuys, CA--Jeff Ravitz is teaming up with one of his original clients to create the lighting and scenery for the Styx 2004 national tour. Ravitz has been associated with the mega-platinum rock group since 1976, when he began a series of lighting and production designs for history-making tours promoting albums such as Crystal Ball, The Grand Illusion and Paradise Theatre. "This summer’s show will be particularly exciting," remarks Ravitz. "The band is in top form, performing all their hits plus a number of new songs. We are giving them a fresh, new look to use as they tour from one end of the country to the other." Hard Rock Café is sponsoring the tour, which is a VH1 Classic Summer Hits event. The first show is in Akron, Ohio on May 6 and also features support artists Peter Frampton and Nelson. Ravitz is also known for his tour designs for Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, as well as for numerous televised concerts, comedy specials and other live events produced for TV. |
