Operations Manager Profile: Lilian Moseley

Name: Lilian Moseley

Title: Operations Manager

Years Worked at VT: Since September 2022

Favorite Project: My favorite project has been The River of Lights. Although I’m not part of the lighting design team, I had the chance to participate in the mockup and attend opening day, which made the experience special. Watching the installation come to life and seeing the community’s excitement and turnout was incredibly rewarding.

Tell us your funniest or most memorable memory at Visual Terrain: All the times I’ve gotten to eat at Bar Taco with the team stand out. We always go when we’re in town for IAAPA, and it feels like the calm before the chaos of the convention. It’s nice to have a moment with the team to eat, relax, and enjoy each other’s company — plus, I get to eat all of the plantains, which are my favorite!

Favorite Aspect of Lighting Design: Before working in this industry I didn’t realize how significant a role lighting plays in so many things. Now, I can’t help but notice it everywhere. Great lighting can completely transform the look and feel of an experience.

What or Who Inspires You: Music inspires me. I love how it brings people together and has the power to evoke emotion.

Fun Fact About Yourself that No One Knows: I really love to read! One of my favorite things is sleeping in on the weekend and spending a couple of hours reading in bed — it’s the best feeling.

What is your favorite part about your job? It might seem like a small thing, but I love the moment when we’re awarded a project and it’s assigned a project number. There’s a whole routine to setting up the filing system, and I genuinely enjoy moving the project into the “awarded” section. It’s always exciting to wonder how many projects the team will get to work on throughout the year.
